Hi.

By mistake, i upgraded my iPad 2 to 4.3.1

I really want to jailbreak my iPad 2, but i have heard that it Will never be possible. Is this true? Will i never be able to jailbreak my iPad?

If it is true... Is there any way for me to downgrade to 4.3 again?

Thanks.

And so it begins. Who predicted it?

To the OP, there isn't an easy way to jailbreak 4.3.1 yet. It's on it's way though. And no, you can't downgrade unless you have your SHSH blobs for 4.3. If you don't know what SHSH blobs are, then you don't have them.

I know what shsh blobs are, but i did not save them.

So you are saying that i am not completely screwed? A jailbreak for 4.3.1 Will come out eventually?

Correct. The untethered JB is currently done. They (the dev team and others) are just squashing any last minute bugs. Should be out soon (whatever that means). My educated guess is anytime this weekend to later on in the week.

Ok thank you very much! :)

Where did you get your information? (link)

It clearly says iPad 2 not supported?
Maybe tethered though?
The sn0wbreeze 4.3.1 jailbreak beta that just came out yesterday doesn't support ipad2 either

When do you guys Think we Will se a jailbreak 4.3.1 for iPad 2? :)

No one really knows. Could be weeks, could be a few months, could be more. Just depends on what kind of exploits or found. My guess (and remember, this is just a guess) is that a 4.3.1 tethered crack is 4-6 months out. Maybe even longer for an untethered.

Hopefully the powers that be prove me wrong.

That is a long time to wait! :/

I hope it Will be here soon though.

Just to be safe... What is The difference between tethered and untehthered?? :)

This does not happen by mistake. You just didn't know any better. Also considering what difficulties you're having and you haven't even jailbroken your ipad yet, maybe jailbreaking isn't for you.

I have a jailbroken iPod, so i know jailbreaking is for me.

And it is possible to upgrade The firmware by mistake.

PLEASE PLEASE tell me how you can upgrade the firmware by mistake.

I guess if you can't read, then YES, it is possible to do it by mistake, otherwise it can only be done intentionally by stark ignorance of the consequences.

I agree, but his wording is bad. It can be done by mistake (like getting a girl pregnant because you didn't use a condom)... but it doesn't speak well for the one who's responsible, because while it may have been unintentional\mistake\accidental, it was still negligence :)

The untethered is done for iPad 2? That's news to me. Where did you hear this, and what basis are you saying there could be a 4.3.1 UNtethered JB anytime soon, or do you mean for the 4.3?

I am not sure what the delay is though, seriously. It's an application of an exploit they found a month ago. Boo. :-(

You're correct. I guess if you misread the obvious message by apple regarding a firmware upgrade and mistook for an iTunes update then it's fair to say it's a mistake.

The only way I would accept that it was accidental is if your cat jumped on the keyboard when the updaet message came up and hit the enter key.

But bottom line as you said in the end it's simply negligent.
