I know that iOS 4.3 is coming out soon. I want to get the iPhone 3Gs rather than the 4. But I don't want it to become MORE dated when the 4.3 comes out, and the iPhone 5 comes around.. Is it to dated to run such software? No one knows, but what's your opinion.?

There is a 4.3 beta out for the 3Gs and it still has one year left in its life cycle. The iPhone 2G got three years and the 3G got three years as well. The 3Gs is currently on year two.

Dang!

Dang! Good eye:) But do you think it will be laggy? -_-

Ohhh

Hmm... I have never seen the 3Gs run it in person. Is it slower? or the same as it running 3.x?

4.3 will work on the 3GS, but I'm of the opinion the iPhone 4 and new iPhone will be the only ones to run iOS5's full feature list.

The RAM difference could be what pushes the 3GS further back (depending on features added) and remember it will very likely be discontinued come June like the 3G was last summer.

Personally, if I were buying an iPhone I wouldn't go near the 3GS with a bargepole, unless it were a free phone on a 12 month contract. Anyone who signs up for a 3GS is going to feel very left out very quickly.

I doubt the iPhone 4 gets the "full feature list". It will probably get most of the features of iOS 5, but I bet there are still a few iPhone 5 exclusives. We've been through this a few times now, each time a new x.0 version of iOS comes out, with new hardware, Apple gives the new hardware a few extra software features to make it "special" over it's predecessors. In many cases this is due to hardware changes, but not always. This gives people more incentive to upgrade, which is good for the books.
