About the Unlocked iPhone

The unlocked iPhone includes all the features of iPhone but without a contract commitment. You can activate and use it on the supported GSM wireless network of your choice, such as AT&T in the United States.* The unlocked iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S will not work with CDMA-based carriers such as Verizon Wireless or Sprint.

This was already known. You can't SIM unlock a phone for a CDMA network because CDMA networks don't use SIM cards...

This truely sucks.

The phone has a special number (can't remember the term) and if that number isn't in the CDMA providers listing of valid numbers then it won't work on their network.

So it's impossible to add the number? How would they get in the list in the first place?

iPhone 4S (CDMA) CAN use GSM Sims unlocked

iPhone 4s CDMA is a world phone and has an installed sim slot. Unlocked it can use a gsm sim on any gsm network.
