4 Disk enclosure os sees as 4 individual disks

Well this is what i am after.

I want an enclosure that can take 4x sata disks yet show them individually to the os (so i can raidz them)

Not really bothered if its fw800 or even usb (tho fw is pref).

Any one got any suggestions as i am having trouble finding one that does this.

Not exactly an inexpensive option, but this will give you 4 independent volumes (requires eSATA with port multiplier).

But why not buy a 4-drive case with RAID functionality built in and let the device do it instead of the OS?

if there were a nice little NAS box (4bay) that had ZFS & RaidZ support then gladly. but alas the closest they do is RAID5 and thats not what I want.

currently I have a separate PC with ZFS on, but I'd like to reduce the footprint etc and have a nice fast interconnect direct to the mac and use its zfs implementation for the storage. (tidier solution for me).

I could get 4 x FW800 boxes and daisychain I know, but again thats 4 x PSU's and no where near as tidy.

and alas there is no eSATA on my mac so its gotta be FW, USB (yukky) or Thunderbolt.
