As many of you have read, 4 finger swipe gestures will be implemented in Snow Leopard (10.6) and will also be available for recent MBAirs and MBPros that have the new 10.6 installed.

However, I likely won't upgrade to 10.6 (I'm on a very, very tight budget right now) when it is released sometime this year. I have an early-2008 MacBook Pro and am content with 10.5 and what it has to offer, and this likely won't change from what I've heard about Snow Leopard.

Do you think that when 4-finger swipe gestures become available on 10.6 that they will also be implemented for computers running the latest version of 10.5 through something like a software update? I would hate to not have access to these features on my early 2008 MacBook Pro simply because I didnt upgrade to 10.6 when the same exact computer could allow me to utilize these features by upgrading.

Anyone else facing similar concerns?

Thanks.
