$4 Gevey SIM = iPhone Unlocked. True?

I went on eBay and typed in Gevey sim expecting to find them for $50 or more. (I would have paid it too!) but instead I found THIS- a $3 Gevey.

Is this real? I can just stick that bad boy in my iPhone 4 with my cut T-Mobile SIM card and I'm good to go? What's the catch?

You'll have to make sure it's not a first gen gevey. AFAIK, those don't work for iphone 4.

Be careful: They state that it is not a legitimate Gevey and it also doesn't support anything above iOS 4.3.2.

Im using one of those "fake" Geveys for iPhone 4 (NOT the 3g/3gs version) on my GF's iphone4 running iOS 4.1 BB 2.10.04. Im guessing its fake since it was 6 or 7$ shipped on ebay. It works fine, the drawback is that if you lose signal or reboot, you have to redo the procedure.

Ive heard good things about the newer Gevey ULTRA, how it doesnt require you to redo the procedure......you may need to be jailbroken though. It is supposed to be compatible with 4.3.3. Also these are ~$28 from applenberry (supposedly authorized resellers).

Please make sure you research the limitations as Ive not tried this version, although from reviews, it sounds like the better of the newer versions.
