So, this is frustrating. I'm in the middle of writing my masters thesis and my keyboard decides to stop working. From what I can tell, 4 keys aren't working...

6
Y
H
and left arrow

6, Y, and H sort of make sense as they are in a row, but left arrow is a bit random. Either way, I don't know if there is an way to fix this or if it's a common problem or anything. The computer is a 2 year old MacBook Pro 2.0Gz Intel Core Duo, so I doubt it's covered be an warranty. Does anyone have any idea how much this might be to fix?

-Matt

PS - For those wondering, I'm typing this on an external Dell keyboard I stole from another computer in the house.

First finish your masters thesis

The best solution is to use an external keyboard and the finish of writing your masters thesis. After that it would be worth to go to Apple Store -- maybe technician will be able to advise something...

Went to the store. Here is how to isolate the problem.

- boot into another OS, if it still doesn't work, then it's hardware (otherwise it's software problem)

If it's hardware, it's likely the keyboard
If keyboard is replaced and problem is still there, then might be the top case

Well you said you have warranty, so go to Apple and have them replace the keyboard.
