Need some repair assistance. 2008 late MBP, 15" screen. When I open the screen theres about a 4 inch stripe running top to bottom that is blurry/pixled/fuzzy. You can see the desktop behind it, and if I move the screen a bit past the usual angle I keep it, and back to almost closed, most times the blurry goes away. Sometimes I have to "twist" the screen by pulling slightly to the front on one bottom corner, and pushing to the rear on the other bottom corner. This usually fixes the problem too. It never happens while I'm using the laptop, only when I open it up.

So, yesterday I got into the innards. I made sure both RAM chips were seated and secure. They were. I also checked the cable that goes from the screen to the mother board. From what I can tell, it all looks good and the connections appear to be in place. I have no other ideas what to check or do.

So, how hard is it to replace it on my own? Or is this a send out job??
