~400mb "other" space after ios4

Both my wife's 3G and my 3GS have ~400mb of wasted "other" space after ios4 upgrade/jb/unlock. What is it?

Don't worry about it. It's all the categories of stuff that's not video, computer pics, music, and ringtones. It's your contacts, calendar, etc. and app setting/game saves and texts. The 3GS and 3G have about 200-300 MB of other.

Did you restore from a backup, since that can make your other a little bigger?

Consider that the iOS 4 .IPSW is around 377MB depending on the type of device. The majority of the "other" is probably to OS.
