Genius!!!!!!

Seriously. This ad is a little more complicated to pull off than the last one, but the marketers are not being paid enough.

...and in the Wall Street Journal site too, of course, given the nature of the add.
 
I wish they would do some ads that actually show off parts of the OS instead of saying it's better without explaining why. Every time I've showed OS X's features to someone who wasn't familiar with them, they were impressed... Apple never bothers to do that themselves.

I like how this ad is probably driving traffic to NYT site. I went there for the first time to check the ad and spent my lunch hour browsing their articles.
 
I, too, like the ads that show you what you can do with a Mac, like the Time Machine one. That's a step in the right direction. I can't help but like this one though, this one's funny.

"Come on, Mac! We've got the whole Internet to correct!"

I agree. I think they should follow along the lines of the Time Machine ad as opposed to continuing along this path.
 
I tried out Leopard the other day, not impressed yet.Apple needs to get back to their roots across the board and build a quality product.The flashy designs, Vista ads are just not classy anymore.

Hmmm. Out of the 6 model ranges of Macs, 4 model ranges of iPods, the Apple TV, and the iPhone, I can count....12 high quality, 'classy' products.

Seems like quote a good hit rate to me.
 
Don't get me wrong, I am an Apple fan for life, still have my IIe sitting in the corner(works!!).Just that my top of the line MBP cannot stay connected via wi-fi enough for me to even enjoy internet anymore.The keyboard misses the first letter so often that if working on a long typing project, i have to use my old blueberry Imac keyboard to not lose time making sure words are typed right.Since Apple began this digital lifestyle theme, gadgetry has been the main focus QC is bad.Look how they stopped 10.5 development to rush that Iphone out.Due to the increased popularity, Applecare is worse than the DMV on a good day.Just frustrated more than anything thats all.

I can understand your frustration, but you can't claim that Apple's QC has decreased.

In the last 4 years either myself or someone in my immediate family have purchased almost every generation of iMac and MacBook. In addition to that, I own every full size iPod since the 4G Mono, together with an iPod Mini and now the iPod touch.

This isn't to brag, but rather to state that I have not had a single problem with any of these products other than my current iMac which suffered from a graphics problem. It was replaced by Apple and I was given £100 credit.

In addition, Leopard has been flawless for me and runs as great as any of my machines with Tiger (although they run great too).

Therefore, I 100% disagree that Apple have either lost sight of their Macintosh business, the Mac OS X business or that they have a problem with their QC.

Actually, neither his bad experience nor your good experience is much proof of anything since it's purely anecdotal (although you've purchased enough computers that it's encouraging).

What DOES mean something is that every time a magazine does a survey of thousands of readers on quality and reliability, Apple wins or is very close to the top. That is pretty convincing evidence that Apple's quality is very good overall. Not perfect, but above industry standards.
 
Whats any of this got to do with that ad?

BTW I love the ad. Just because its so clever the way two different ads sync up like that. More people should be doing creative advertising on the web like this.

Well stated. My experience is only there for comparison sake, in an attempt to show the person that not everyone thinks the way he/she does.

I quite like the cleverness of these web ads, but I would like to see more advertising of features and more advertising here in the UK.

Occasionally, we'll see an iMac or so on TV but the only thing they really have well advertised is the iPhone.
 
Sure they're getting on, but I still really enjoy this ads (and much prefer the American variant).

These web ads are particularly clever though
 
Most of the time the two ads play out of sync for me, or the top ad won't play at all. Ironic considering I'm using Safari on a Mac.
