Hi,
I'm going to buy a new MBP (when and if the new ones come out).
It will come with os Leopard installed on it but as I use ProTools I need to run Tiger. Now I've heard that I can't put anything less than 10.4.6 on an intel mac. is this true? and if it is where can I get a retail copy of Tiger since apple no longer sells it?
Any help would be great,
Thanks.

Better be absolutely sure that you can even run Tiger on a brand new MBP. Most of the new machines can't run software older than the ones they came with.

There is no guarantee that it will run Tiger...

You're going to have problems. All retail versions of Tiger are Power PC only, so they wont work on an intel Mac.

This is good to know. I guess I never tried to install from scratch, but I always assumed I could install from my Tiger disk. I suppose since it is older than the computer that would make it a no go.

Good thing I have Leopard now. :)
