So I only use a computer to use the internet and microsoft office. Would I really need to wait for the new MBP. I don't really understand what the update is going to be exactly. Let me know what you think

Most likely, this update will only be a processor/chipset upgrade so it really won't affect what you'll be doing.
It won't be a chipset update unless the update doesnt happen until later summer... otherwise, it will likely be a CPU, multi touch, maybe a price adjustment, maybe a slight case redesign, maybe LED screens for 17", maybe...

Based on what you've just told us, no, this update isn't going to affect you in the slightest.

A computer from 5 years ago can do what you need it to.

Actually, you don't even need a MBP for those tasks. A normal macbook would easily suffice.

Will it be the same price because if it is then I may just as well wait for whatever the update is even if it just a multitouch trackpad, its still a update for the same price. If its going to be much higher than there is no need.

Multi-touch on the MBP has been squashed. That is exlusive to the MBA only.

whenever they upgrade their products they are usually the same price unless they do a major overhaul.

i can't remember which report/review you're citing, but the multi-touch is exclusive to the mba right now. current generations of the macbook and macbook pro don't have the hardware to support the new multi-touch gestures, but nothing was said of future updates. it would be very surprising if apple left out multi-touch on the next iteration of macbooks and macbook pros.

Get whatever notebook you want....if you like the looks of the MBP, then so be it...

Be comfortable in your own skin....who cares what everyone else thinks or says. I don't. :p

When was the MB updated last

just want to know because I might go for the MB instead of the MBP but, i don't want there to be a MB update. I know that the MBP update is due soon so will the MB update be anytime soon or should I go ahead and get the MB
