Has anyone here seen both of these 17" LCDS, CCFL and LED side by side?

Are the differences noticeable and if so, in what way?

U can tell just by the brightness of the screen. It will be a lot more vibrant and @ full it even hurts the eye(during nightime)

I saw them side by side. I thought the matte LED was noticeably brighter than the matte CCFL. The viewing angle was wider too.

One thing that I did not test, but from what I've read. LED is supposed to be able to come on immediately and won't fade. The CCFL fade over time, and take a few seconds to get to full brightness from power-up or even returning from sleep.

I just wanted to verify what's already been said. I went to the store to see a 17" non-LED vs a 15" LED screen on the MBP and it was pretty noticeable to me. LCD Is much brighter and has superior viewing angles.

Haha it does hurt my eyes at night time. When I'm using my laptop in almost complete darkness, I have to turn my laptop almost half way down before my eyes would start hurting. Having it at full brightness at night will make you go blind.
