I know this is totally a repost of SO many other posts, but I have one exception that CANNOT be compromised. The earbuds must fit within my ear far enough that I can slide on my motorcycle helmet without knocking them out of my ear (which would prove more difficult than one might think).

So, just as kewl posted (with minor revisions), my requirements are as follows:

- In the ear type to reduce outside noise (for commuting to tune out traffic drone).
- a plug that fits the iphone.
- a small microphone on the earphones with the same functions as the apple earbuds - press to answer, pause and skip music.
- Best quality sound for $150 or less.
- MUST HAVE A LOW PROFILE TO FIT IN MOTORCYCLE HELMET.

I looked at the really sweet Ultimate Ears super.fi 4vi's but they stick far to much out the ear to get a helmet on. Bummer, because I'd really have liked those. On the other hand, the V Moda Vibe Duo's look like they'd do a great job and are $50 less.

So, again, please forgive the "repost" of sorts, but I must have the requirement of fitting in a helmet as a parameter that must be met.

Thanks!

For a motorcycle helmet? Of course because it's better not to hear that car that's gonna knock you off your bike and kill you...

Do what i do on my bike! Sing to yourself if you're bored.

Wow! Thanks, those are GREAT earbud suggestions!!!

I've been riding for over 10 years now and understand the risks of what I choose to do. I appreciate your concern (especially as a fellow rider), but my question was about appropriately fitting earbuds under a helmet - NOT whether one thinks its safe or not to ride with music.

Appreciatively,

Ignore them mate. I've got a motorbike and I use these with the foam inserts. They cut down ambient noise A LOT meaning you could, if you want, have some music on at a reasonably low volume and still hear if anyone toots their horn or comes screaming up behind you. I've worn them for years and never come close to not hearing a car around me, but it takes down the engine noise a lot. After a long ride though, you might find them a little uncomfortable - i always put the earphones in and then a balaclava on top to make the helmet slide on easier.

hope that helps.

Any of the Shure earphones with the Shure MPA should work because of how the Shure headphones go into your ear. This is considering you put them in correctly, and they are fairly comfortable and light.

Those are the SE530's. I have ridden with Shure's and an Arai helmet.

All the Shure models are supposed to be worn like that.
