GTA IV disses Apple

What do the authors of Grand Theft Auto IV think about Apple users? Tossers. They've embedded a brilliant Apple parody into one of the Internet cafe computers in the game.

Among other points, they take down Apple (called "Fruit") for being overpriced minimalism. A white shiny unit, superficially similar to the "i" sits next to a near-cinema display and readers are encouraged to "Think Fruit" and live in the Fruit Cocoon.

And if that's not enough, the site advertises a new banana-shaped iFruit phone. Its sales points made me laugh out loud: No buttons, no reception, no storage capacity, all Ego!
 
Wow... that is hilarious. :D

How is the game, by the way? I'm on the verge of buying an XBox or PSA3 for it.
 
lol, looks like they're running out of ideas. That logo is quite reminiscent of the bowling logo too.

No it's nothing to do with that. The game itself is 6.3gb, the extra content is locked to the 360 since MS paid them upfront for it, somewhere in the region of $50m to keep exclusivity.

When is see $50m I think of $50k.... damn work stuffs.

Gotcha. Meh, I have not use for the DL content. To each their own.
 
If you payed attention in other GTA they tend to make fun of any big icon company. Apple is set up to be an easy target. They go off the common themes in apple advertisement and make fun of it.

Apple tends to have banners like that they just changed a few words to make it insulting. They have done that to a lot of things.

Now people getting work up over it are examples of what is wrong with apple fans and why they do it.
 
Yea it's alright. Not brilliant and certainly not the 100% the reviewers have been giving it. Good logical steps forward by Rockstar but it's extremely repetitive, the character models look out of place against the beautiful landscape and some of the voice acting is extremely poor.
 
Sounds pretty funny, the To$$er detracts from in though, no company would ever swear in an ad, so its disappointing.
 
I don't know if this is new. I've only started playing GTA:LCS on PSP, and there is a radio ad (or two) for the Fruit computer. I didn't hear exactly what was being said, but they seemed to be poking fun at Apple marketing culture, and some of the same design/functionality points as in the OP.
 
I like it....GTA didn't really "dis" them...just a small poke at them...it was in good form. If you look at it really the internet cafe in the game the computers look like they are running mac OS(whatever version). That browser looks exactly like safari:)
