So, I thought it would be easy to find out how to install X11 on my mac. However, I can't seem to find out how to do that.

Would somebody please help?

Thanks
Eric

Oh, I wish it were that easy.

I can't find it on disk and I've tried to install it from the 10.5 DVD but still can't find it.

Maybe you can tell me where it installs to?

Sorry to be a noob...but my wife and I just switching...she has the previous gen macbook which we bought in february before the update, and Im getting ready to ordre a new Imac in the next week or two. Anyway, I saw x11 on her macbook, but I dont know what it does.

I'm going to go out on a limb but have you tried Spotlight?

It's in /Applications/Utilities by the way.

Sorry, I dont spend eternity on Wikipedia...I didnt know it has now been raised to the status of Gospel Truth now...Gee maybe I should go edit my own thing on wikipedia, because we all know that if it is on there it must be true🙄

I did say it was under Optional Installs. 😉

First hit using Google.

http://developer.apple.com/opensource/tools/X11.html

Does my research need to have more credible sources to cite?

...no one said every article on wikipedia was 100% true, but wikipedia might just be the greatest source of easily accessible information on the planet...

and besides, what did you want him to do? spend half an hour typing all of that out for you?

who is going to post intentionally false information in a technical topic?

Well... you say that, but I didn't know what x11 was and I probably wouldn't have looked. But with you pasting a link I had a quick click and learned some interesting stuff...
