Yay the display is falling off of my macbook pro and the hinge is cut in half! (pics)

So, I have a 17" mbp and after awhile id say an inch up from the bottom of the hinge on the far left and right of the actual display (you know the casing to the left and right of the display) there are cracks, and it's bent.
I know thats worded weirdly but basically, after some wear and tear, a heavy display and a crappy hinge all together causes there to be cracks on the bottom left and right of the display casing. This has happened to my old macbook pro. After some time, the display cracked all the way and the screen just fell off. This is probably because the display doesnt go all the way back, and I usually use it all the way back, so after throwing it in my bag to school every day and back it got like this.
Okay so i know that probably sounded weird so heres a pic of my old macbook pro after the display fell off

There is your problem there. If you try to bend your car door hinge beyond what it is designed for, then you'll break it too.

A tear dripped out of the iSight on my MBP...

Dude...wtf? Did you actually bend it further back than what it was designed to do?

You must have plenty of cash laying around to repair stuff like that.

You don't? Then why is the hinge all screwed up? I open my powerbook fully all the time and its screen is still attached...
 
No sign of cracking on my ~2 yr. old 17" MBP and it get used all the way back as well.

Definitely looks like someone tried turning it inside out.

Its probably your own fault that you broke the hinge.. if it happened with your older mbp and now the newer one.. that just tells you why it really broke~!

Next time dont try to bend it back more than it was suppose to go! I dont know why people like it bent so far back I think the way it bends back right now is more than adequate and most of the time I dont even bend the screen back to its furthest because if it goes back any further the TN screen's colors wont look right.

To what purpose? It's your fault, not Apple's :rolleyes: I hope it cost you plenty.:D

Like a hyper-extended elbow. You can try the AppleCare route but I'd have my doubts that they'd repair this for free. Best of luck.
 
I have never had anyone's hinge crack; seriously does aluminum crack? What sound does it make?

Lol, I second that I've never seen a powerbook/macbook pro since today that cracked or hinge broken problem.

I've seen plenty on the ibook/macbooks though.

I'm sorry but I think the OP posting about his mbp's hinge breaking after he clearly just forces his mbp's hinge further back than it was intended to (of course the hinge will break if you do that!) has no point. If you do that with any laptop it will break.

I just dont see the point of this post but just look how I fu*ked up my mbp!!
