Which?

Which one would you guys pick(i can get iwork cheap)?

Use

I mostly use it for writing and layout stuff, and i never send any of my files to anyone, so it is only a question of, which is the best and esiest(i dont use advansed features)

I Think I Will Choose...

After trying both trials, i think that :apple: iWork is the one for me.
(Might buy it tomorrow)

My recommendation

I have purchased both, but I would recommend you to buy iwork, it's just easier(and funnier) to use than office.

Just my advice :)

the only major beef i have with iwork is a lack of autosave.

otherwise I prefer it to word for standard text editing.

It's really nice that it uses the OS's dictionary, so words you've added to the dictionary in any other apps will be recognised there.

IMO, Keynote is fantastic, Pages is good, but Numbers is horrible if you have to make more than a basic spreadsheet. So I iWork, but also Excel as a stand-alone app.

Good luck with that. I've been linking these threads to the guide, but it seems little can be done to stop them popping up on an almost daily basis.

Everyone's situation is slightly different, so I can understand the desire to get a little personalized help, but I do think that pointing out the guides does some good -- at least it gets the basic facts out on the table.

If they read it, which from the questions, I presume most do not.

OpenOffice 3.0 Beta

Really, OpenOffice 3.0 Beta looks VERY good. I never actually adjusted to the Ribbon UI in MS Office 2007. I like the UI in the OpenOffice 3.0 Beta much better. And they have versions for MAC OS. For those that haven't tried it, you should. From what I have been reading, and hearing from people working for businesses, a lot of the businesses are switching to this new Open Source Suite. From a price standpoint, it would be hard not to since the new 3.0 is supporting the new file formats of MS Office. If I can just find a good replacement for MS Outlook. Anyway, my next computer will most likely be a iMac since I got looking at them after buying a couple of iPhones.
