"Mobile Me".. seriously?

does change the fact that it LOOKS exactly the same. Bad choice on marketing in my opinion.
My first mental association was to Mini Me from Austin Powers. In any even, it is a stupid name.

if you currently have .mac account, you dont have to change your addy so it really doesnt bother me.
The name is pretty hokey, but I thought the same thing about the Wii and now it's a worldwide sensation.
I agree on the logo though. Way too close to that disaster of an OS.

I guess it's what they had to do in order to push the iPhone as a consumer product and not just a phone for Mac users.
Support for synching with PC's using outlook and the photo support for iPhone was a big issue for the first go around.
I suspect we may see a PC iPhoto or iPhoto lite in the next version of iTunes.

Apple can't be good at everything!
They make great hardware and software, they build up anticipation for new offerings like no other company and have a huge mindshare for their products... but lets face it, recently they have been pretty rubish at naming stuff! iPod Nano, Macbook, MobileMe... all rubish names if you ask me!*duck for cover*

Which makes me wonder...
If they keep adding more functionality through iTunes, will we see a re-branding of it eventually?
For instance, they said during the keynote that Enterprise apps will be delivered through iTunes. I just think it's funny that businesses would have to use iTunes.
Originally it was designed to play music, yet it continues to grow into much much more.
Thoughts?
Handwritten fonts are more 'personal'... makes sense since it's called Me.
There are only so many handwritten fonts.... and even though the 2 are similar, they aren't identical.
Just because Windoze does something, it doesn't mean they own it... or their competition can't improve upon it.
The added capacity is great, but .Mac is sloooow (ie: copying files to iDisk), and the email too unreliable. I used my .mac address on my iPhone for a while, but emails were taking way to long to come through, sometimes delayed hours (while mail I was POP'ing continued coming through). Paying so much for such shabby performance/reliability is hard to do. Although, I must say, the web galleries are fantastic. What I'd really like is the ability to use the webserver side of the web galleries on my own website. I'd almost be willing to pay $99 for that alone if I could put the galleries on my own site with the ease and speed that I can with .Mac.
