iPod touch 4G Ipod touch apps not syncing.

When I download apps in itunes and sync it to my ipod it never appears on my ipod. It will show up on the apps tab in ipod menu where the simulated screens of the ipod are but not on the ipod. Anyone has any ideas. Thanks.
