Stopped by my local Verizon store today looking for a case for my new iPhone 5 -- they didn't have any -- so I perused the Android offerings. The new RAZR M is nearly as compact as the IP5 and looks really nice. I held my IP5 next to the RM and did simultaneous speedtest.net tests. The results using identical server and placed within about 3 inches of one another?

IP5 88ms ping 10.20 DL 4.98 UL
RM 70ms ping 26.55 DL 15.30 UL

Now in the real world, 10.2 is more than enough to satisfy me (blows away my 1.5 at home) so I am not really complaining, just trying to understand some possible reasons why the results would vary this wildly. The RAZR M was flying compared to the IP5.

(BTW, I made sure to disable Wifi on RAZR to ensure it was using the cell tower)

Usually if you try doing it at the same time time the radios will interfere, next time try one by one. And i have gotten 30 mbps on my iphone over LtE

I've gotten 47 megs on At&t at 6 Flags St.Louis. There is A LOT of metal there absorbing the signal so I'm sure the speed could be faster.

I've gotten varied speeds on my Galaxy S3, up to 30mpbs down 22up.

I did a side by side with my buddy's Verizon ip5 and my Verizon Galaxy S3 and I got (in this area in KC) 7down 8 up while he got 3down 5 up. We did it together.

Those are some nice speeds in SoCal.

I've been hearing about some pretty dismal LTE download speeds recently in Boston and NYC, so I've been a little nervous as I wait to port over to VZW on an iPhone 5 :/

Thanks for the feedback ... I will go back sometime and try rebooting first and then do the tests sequentially instead of simultaneous. Hopefully the results will be more comparable.

For those of you getting 45 - 50 DL ... wow, I've never gotten anywhere near that.
