For those in NYC that haven't noticed 4G speeds have decreased with all the new activations of iPhone 6 and 6plus. While the speed decrease is basically happening during peak hours we are seeing it both on ATT and VERIZON. Judge for yourself and call your carrier to let them know that you're aware of the speed decrease. Hopefully they rectify the situation

Congested network is congested. In a city of over 8.5 million people you're confused why data speeds are slower during peak hours?

Speeds are slower than before. Congestion has reached the point where speeds are slower than before.

Sucks to be you guys. My speeds in NYC, when NYC is at its busiest, have gone UP.

And you think this is directly related to iPhone 6 sales? This is simply by more and more people using mobile data, and people are using more and more data as content becomes higher quality and more common.

Well if a lot of people who previously had non-LTE phones such as the 4s buy the 6 then you have more people on LTE.

I wouldn't say it's that far fetched. Since the 6/6 Plus launch, iOS marketshare grew in the US while all other platforms shrunk. And it's been shown, consistently, that even though Android users outnumber iOS users in terms of physical devices, web traffic is dominated by iOS. Apparently, iOS users actually use their devices more than most Android users.

Verizon is your best bet for speeds in NYC. They have tons of spectrum and capacity. T-Mobile isn't too bad in the city with their "Wideband LTE" but of course your iPhone becomes an iPod Touch outside of it.
