I have gone through 3 Nanos in regular gym use. I put them in shirt pocket while working out, a really bad environment. Background, old fart who will use his mostly at the gym with a bit of metro riding thrown in. For travel I have tablets (ipad and ?)and for driving I have satellite.

Choices are new 16gb Nano or a refurbed 4g Touch. The $60 difference in price is not particularly important, but weight, heft and survivability are. The gym does have wifi so Pandora would be a plus with the 4g. Opinions?

Thanks

Ipod touch

Nano is way too expensive for a device that is used for music only. Still, the Touch sound quality is not very good, quite flat. At same price tag, get third party!!!

Touch is only USD 50 more expensive, no? I mean for the brand new one.

For me, I think that the 5th Gen nano with the clip is much better for gym usage than the current new one, which lacks a clip for some unspecified reasons.

I actually use my touch 4G for jogging. Put it in my pants pocket because I'm too lazy to buy an armband for that purpose.
