4GB of Verizon Data for New iPad?

I was on the Verizon site and found that by switching to a shared data plan with my iPad as the only device covered, it would cost $40 (plus tax/surcharge). Is this worth looking into as an alternative to the $30 for 2GB data plan I am on now? Presumably the shared plan presents a few variables into the mix (voice/text) so I am wondering if there is a major catch I should know about.

Anyone out there able to speak to the difference between a data-only iPad plan and a shared data iPad plan on Verizon? Again, only wondering from the standpoint of the iPad.
