Hi, im in the process of buying a core i7 MBP, and im still wondering if i should get 4 or 8gb...
I'm currently working with a Canon 7D witch output 1080p files, that i could sometime combine with another source (different angle) in final cut...
Biggest files i could work with is 1 hour length (x2). I wonder if 4gb is enough or it will cause some lag?

I work at a film production studio (of sorts) and we have 4 GB in all our mac's be it the iMac's or MBP's.

We just ordered 36 more imac's (i5's) and they are all coming with 4 GB.

Honestly you won't really need it unless you are running a TON of stuff at once, rendering is always going to be taxing, but on the GPU and CPU more so.

It will probably speed things up a little, but not noticeably so.
