4gb sd card formatted for a Zire 72 wont show up on mac

damn it. i bought a 4gb card and a card reader for my palm pilot. turned in on, palm asked to format it, i did that, put into the card reader on mac, plugged in, and it didnt show up, opened disk utility, formatted to ms-dos format (which is actually fat32), moved files onto it, put in palm, didnt read it, formatted again on palm, opened on pc, pc read card, i moved files onto it, all good, but it wont read on the mac.

any help....?
