I have a 2012 cmbp with the higher end graphic card. I know that it can drive the thunderbolt display at its highest resolution but I would like to know if it can drive an eventual 4K display ( Apple's or other's) when they come out at its highest resolution. Can my NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M through thunderbolt handle that?

I plan on keeping my laptop for at least 2-3 years so I would not want to buy a monitor that it can't use properly.

Thanks

Forget that folks! I found my answer on the Apple website, duh!!!

Maximum resolution for my graphic card is 2560 by 1600 pixels on an external display.

So I will be saving a bunch of cash!
