Unfortunately, I have to dive into the HDTV market again.

I'm interested in knowing what HDTVs might play nice with a household with a mix of Mac and PC and Android and iOS and Roku and Chromecast and PS3 and Tivo and so on and on and on. No ATV and no desire for one.

As just a dumb device, all I gotta worry about is a bunch of HDMI connections.

But I'm curious about whether any of the "smart tv" functions on any of the brands are worth spit, or even turning on. We currently have access to about everything, but a more reliable way to view our own media on our LAN (serving mostly from storage attached to a Netgear router, some from a Mac with Plex). Or at least maybe eliminating a box or dongle. Are these computers in the TV just crapware, or lesser versions of what we already get with our Roku? Any work easily with Macs for viewing served media without ATV?

TIA<

I'm deciding which 4K t.v.to purchase, though will leave it until 20016. Sky q being airplay compatible helps :)
