I'm thinking about purchasing a 27" or 32" 4k monitor that I can use with my mid-2012 rMBP and PS4 Pro. The plan is to use 1 HDM1 2.0 port for the PS4 Pro, and the other HDMI port and 1 DisplayPort in Picture-By-Picture mode. The goal is to have 2 1920x1080 side-by-side windows that would give me 4k@60hz.

The question: is this doable? If it is, how much variance should I expect in the image quality between the two connections? And finally, is there a way to run each virtual panel in HiDPI mode? This has always been a trouble spot for me, as it is very difficult to get a 720p HiDPI mode to stick using my current U2515H.

Right now I'm eyeing the LG 27UD88 because it has a built-in adjustable stand and has Picture-By-Picture functionality with the HDMI and DP connections.

Thanks :)

Whatever you end up buying just make sure to get something that supports HDR10 to fully enjoy the PS4 PRo.
