I know there are a lot of folks out there that use a TV as their monitor. Im looking for one in the 40" range. Anyone have recommendations? Im not looking too much into color accuracy or computer gaming. But more so occasional console gaming and screen real estate for browsing and multitasking. I'll be hooking this up to a mac mini.

4k TV as monitor

You didn't tell us WHICH Mini you have, what year, what model.
You didn't tell us which RESOLUTION you want to run, either.
Be aware that the current Mini doesn't support 4k resolution @ 60hz.
That won't happen until the NEXT Mini gets released (if one is to be released at all).
Seems to me the 2014 models can support 4k, but only @ 30hz.
There are a couple of manufacturers right now offering computer displays in the 40"-42" size. Have you checked those?
