Are there any benchmarks on the Mac that can measure the machine's ability to handle 4K video content? I know Black Magic Design tests various HD formats for read/writes but none for 4K.

RED or DPX files? I know for playing back 4K DPX files you need wicked fast storage that can sustain 1500MB/s. With proper storage even a 2006 MacPro can handle that. For RED at full res you need a RedRocket or a really powerful machine. Fast storage is still vital, but processing r3d is more about horsepower.
