Hi All,
I've recently purchased an LG 32un880 4K Ultrafine and upgraded (?) from a 34" LG Ultrawide (3440 x 1440).
I was happy with the Ultrawide, but since I'm creating 4K video content and editing photos, I thought it was time to have a 4K option.
Also, the monitor was $699 AUD, down from $999. Here are my thoughts and questions for everyone.

The pros:
- working at 4K resolution and like the extra vertical height.
- colours are great out of the box.
- The colour calibration software is great (there is a but) and, in conjunction with a Spyder calibrator, seems to do the job.
- The stand that comes with it is impressive.
- Working at 4K makes the UI crazy tiny
- UI scaling? (help!)
- The pincushioning effect when I look at this monitor, which I didn't experience with the Ultrawide. (this could be me)
- The colour calibration software doesn't let you keep the same profile and ICC settings across two devices. Spyder software is better for multiple computers.
Questions for 4K monitor users:
- What resolution are you using? Do you use the native resolution all the time?
Native or Scaled? - Did anyone move from an Ultrawide to a4K, and how are you finding it? Stick or switch back?
- Does the scaled resolution really affect the performance? (it doesn't seem to be on a Mac Studio M1 Max)
