4S: Buy Bad ESN in US and use in Argentina?

Hello, first of all I apologize for my not so good english.

In Argentina we use GSM network. So if I buy a BAD ESN iPhone 4S in the US:

1. Can I use it in Argentina with my SIM CARD?
2. The SIM is unlocked outside US or should i have to unlock with Gevey?

Could be wrong here but I think ESN is with CDMA. So the iPhone 4S is locked to Verizon or Sprint.

The sim is locked on a cdma phone so you would need the cdma gevey to unlock it
