Does CDMA gain any speed boost with this new phone, or is it only for AT&T? I get the feeling CDMA is stuck with (by today's standards) super slow data speeds.
It's really frustrating because while AT&T's reception and voice quality completely suck, they seem to be pulling far ahead of Verizon in data speeds. Most people agree Verizon has the best coverage and voice quality, but the data speeds really cripple a fast device like the 4S. In terms of web surfing using the cel network, it may be no faster than an iPhone 4, or even a 3GS for that matter (if it were running on CDMA). Add to that CDMA's inability to use voice and data at the same time.
Yuck, when are we going to get a cel network that delivers on everything?
-- Coverage
-- Voice quality
-- Fast data speeds
-- Features such as simultaneous voice and data, and Visual Voicemail
Right now it's compromises no matter where you go.
