It's a small issue and can be corrected by changing the aspect ratio using the TV.
After buying my daughter a 5s I ended up with her 4s which she had already updated to 7. I had been using an iPod to stream things like HBO GO over component since my older Pioneer Plasma has no HDMI input. I have the 30 pin to component cables from Apple, which work fine for this. The 4s TV Out set for wide screen does nothing and the image is stretched.
Since her 4s had a cracked screen I replaced it under AppleCare Plus. The new unit came with IOS 6 and the TV Out works fine. So I didn't update it yet.
Is this just a glitch that will be fixed in some future update? Since Apple no longer offers component cable adapters for the new Lightening Cables, maybe they are just dropping support for this. Anyone know anything about this? I searched here and internet but couldn't find anything. Thanks.
