4S on iOS 5.0 still, good battery life. Do I have to upgrade to 5.0.1 to JB it?

I been looking for some more info on whether I should update my 4S to 5.0.1 being that the jailbreak should be out soon. I have really good battery life on 5.0, but I don't want to jailbreak and then have bad battery life because of the 5.0.1 software. Should I upgrade to 5.0.1? Is 5.0.1 required for the new jailbreak tool that will be released?

5.1 isn't out yet. If you want to jailbreak and don't need to unlock I would update to 5.0.1 now while you still can

Yes, I think it will be focused to JB 5.0.1 but you never know.

I think your correct. I been searching for a couple of days and I haven't read anything about it being for 5.0 and 5.0.1. Only thing I read was that it was safe to upgrade to 5.0.1. Thanks applejuiced.
