4s really hot when charging

I really like the 4s but seeing a few issues, battery life seems really poor. Havent tried the restore/setup as new phone to see if its an app issue. I have a cut into the plastic that started as a crack on one of the corners and ATT says they wont have replacements for 28 days. Lastly and more concerning, it continues to get REALLY hot when its charging, even through the sync cable over USB.

My 3gs never got anywhere near this hot. I've seen some reports of the 4 having this issue.

Does anyone know if I can take it to an Apple Store for a replacement considering ATT doesnt seem eager to help. Ordered it through ATT online when Apple's store failed on me

My iphone 4 gets really warm when charging too, but cools down quickly. Are you using the phone while it's charging by chance? That's when I see the most heat with mine. I've learned that when it comes to the Apple store, it never hurts to ask. I've had much luck in the past with good service, so it's worth a shot.
