phone: 4s
current os: jailbroken 5.1.1

While using the filesystem view in ifunbox my mouse slipped and i moved some important system folder inside another. Now the phone reboots and my custom boot animation shows the progress bar filling up to 100% but the phone freezes there.

I have my 5.1.1 blobs (verified successfully) and i recall updating via itunes so i tried re-restoring via redsn0w. I've tried versions redsn0w_win_0.9.15b1-3 but every time the software says:

1. unable to determine fw version
2. re-restore failed you may have guessed the incorrect fw version

is there anything else i can try?

use tiny umbrella to have itunes go to cydia servers.. in itunes.. shft click or cmnd click restore depending on your OS..select fw 5.1.1 and restore it.

Did your phone ship stock with 5.1.1? or did you install it later OTA or via itunes?

If you have no idea what you are talking about please don't post!

Setting host file to cydia only works on 4.x firmwares.
For 5.x it needs to point to apple and you need to stitch your blobs manually or via redsn0w.

Good question about the OTA update!

obviously i thought i knew what i was talking about..if i thought i had no idea what i was talking about then i'd have no reason to post.. i stand corrected.
no need to be rude.

not intended to be rude, it can bring some people in to trouble and with a phone in a state which they can't get it out anymore
