4S Screen Cracked, How Much $ To Replace?

My 17 yo daughter just informed me she dropped her 4S iPhone at school and cracked the screen. I didn't get the Apple Care extended warranty for any of our iPhones. Her phone still works but will Apple give me any hassles about replacing the screen? How much will this cost? I think I should get the battery replaced at the same time because she uses hers constantly and re-charges it every night. Her run time is far less than mine or my wife's phone. This should increase the phones value when I put it on e-Bay next week. Or would the repair costs not warrant the expected resale value? Any thoughts or info is greatly appreciated.

PS: Our new gold 5S iPhones just shipped on Friday. Great timing, huh?
