4s sounds not working after upgrade to ios 6.1

Greetings,

has anybody eles come across the following happening. Upgraded my wifes iPhone 4s, never jailbroken to ios 6.1. Text tones and music no longer works from speakers, but ring tones do.

I have already reinstalled ios 6.1 twice to the same effect, speakers worked for everything prior to upgrade.

Make sure in Settings->Sounds that there is a sound set for Text Tone. In the Music app, is there an AirPlay icon next to the volume bar? When you tap on the icon, does iPhone have a check next to it?
