I bought a fourth generation Apple TV shortly after they launched and I'm noticing that it's constantly disconnecting from my WiFi network and will not reconnect unless I go into settings and reconnect it manually. It's especially annoying because I'm using this Apple TV as a home hub for home automation and obviously if it drops WiFi, I can no longer communicate with my smart devices outside of my house.

Anyone have any experience like this or know of a solution? I've tried restarting the Apple TV to no avail.

Reset router. Change router wireless encryption to WPA2-PSK (WPA2-AES) only; no mixed/legacy mode. Failing that, are you able to plug in via Ethernet?

Get an AirPort router and watch all your problems disappear.

Need more info. What type of wireless router are you using? How far away from the router is the ATV? What is the signal strength the ATV is getting?

You might need to do one or two things:

-Change wireless channel on the router
-Assign an IP address for the ATV
-change the location of the router
-update the router firmware
-change the router completely (some brands are just crap)
