4X Games (prefer space) other than Civ. Revolutions?

Are there any other 4X games (eXpand, eXplore, eXpoit, eXterminate...it really should be 4E games huh) for the iPad other than Civilization Revolution?

I prefer the space genre and would love to see a Master of Orion or similar come to iPad. Is there anything yet?

There's Betelgeuse Brawl. It's severely limited, but it's the closest there is so far. Supposedly they're working on either an update or a sequel that will add much more depth. There's also iGalaxyLord, which is even more stripped down.

Aside from that, you'll mostly find single-ship type games, like Warpgate.

Yeah. If somebody ever decides to port something like GalCiv, that would be incredible. The iPad itself, and its interface, cries for games like that. Plain and simple.

That and Might and Magic (Heroes, or Clash of Heroes).

I cant believe how under represented this genre is. It's turn based!! Should be way easier to design/build then all this real time stuff.

Someone should port FreeOrion or something.

Distant Star

akm3, I know! One of the reasons (OK, the main reason) I bought an iPad was that it looked like an awesome gaming device; it really does cry out for some old-school 4x action.

Fortunately, I'm also a game developer.

I'm working on a classic 4x game for iPad, called Distant Star. It's a giant, touch-based love letter to classic 4x space games like MoO and Spaceward Ho!, mixed in with some of the better ideas from Sword of the Stars and Civ V. The game is almost done, and I'll be looking for testers in a week or so. Let me know (either by PM or email) if you're interested!

I know it's slightly different from what you're looking for but I just found a game called Warpgate HD. It's like the old Privateer series - trading, missions, building your empire in space. Really good game so far..

I've tried WarpGate and it was very good, but you are right. I want a MoO clone!
