Are there any differences between 4x512MB vs 2x1GB? 4x512 is cheaper for me, but if it's going to be worse then I'll just get 2x1. It's PC2700 333MHz for my Powermac G4 MDD Dual 867MHz.

Also, is PC2700 the best I can have?
 
I think the four 512MB sticks is faster than the two 1GB sticks. Also, not all MDDs work well with or will use 1GB sticks.
 
I did try using different arrangements of memory in my MDD, although I didn't really notice any difference in performance between 2x1GB and 4x512MB. The only reason you'd need to go with the 2x1GB arrangement is if you have a graphics card with a cooler so large it prevents you using one or more RAM slots.
