5.0.1 jailbreak cant reboot.. help

In redsn0w extra's selected ipsw manual, it has to point to the 5.0 ipsw (not 5.01), download if you don't have it, after that do just boot in redsn0w extra's.
i have tried to reboot in that fashion. What happens is redsn0w tells me that the rest of the reboot is done on the device. The device shows the pineapple for about a minute and the jumps on over to the apple logo and just gets stuck there. any other suggestions please...
Maybe a restore will help
Do you need an unlock aswell? If so create a custom FW file with sn0wbreeze to preserve baseband.
If not use stock 5.01.
Need to put it in pwned DFU, redsn0w can do that in extra's.
Then restore through itunes with either custom or stock ipsw.
After that re-JB with redsn0w.
