You wouldn't give yourself a favor. You might can't activate the beta and also might cant downgrade. To activate your device need to registered as developer device at Apple. That would require a developer to add your device to his account. Apple will get really angry with that developer if they catch you
Christian is right in that Apple would get upset if you unofficially acquired it.
However, since Apple signs the official release software (5.0.1) you would have no issue downgrading. Just DFU restore as new back down to the official.
