I have MP5,1 which has been upgraded to the max that can be done.
A year ago and before I was routinely benchmarking it around 670 single core, 6500 multicore.
I haven't benched in a while. I recently tried it and I'm still getting the same single core score around 670, but for some reason the multi-core won't get over 5400ish. That is a 1000 point drop!
Same version of GeekBench in all cases. Same version of OSX. Same hardware...the only exception to the hardware is that I installed an airport extreme wifi/BT card a few weeks ago, but I have both wifi and bluetooth turned off for the test. But all CPU, memory, etc..exactly the same.
I have also gone through and stopped all apps, services, deaomons, etc..
I have also done this test with a new fresh install of OSX, same result
Here is screen shot of history... the 6500 scores were a year ago...
What could be going on that is causing this? The only other software change I guess would be some kind of security update that might have caused it?
