so my headset arrived today (I had to let my 4 jack plugged version go to my other half as the Macs dont have the ports). I ordered the exact same headset with the USB option. (Speedlink Medusa 5.1).

Plugged into the MBA and wham - instantly working (how refreshing - no installs, hunting for drivers, or hassle).

I installed TeamSpeex (the beta version for Mac OS) and connected to my Clan's TS server - wallop that works first time too :)

Played a movie from iTunes and hello wonderful sound.

Overall - My favorite headset is totally Macable and now I really cannot wait for COD4 to ship :)

just thought I'd share this positive experience.

Are you sure you're getting 5.1? There's no way to control it in OS X and you do need drivers for 5.1 audio on any OS I'm aware of. A USB stereo audio profile would be driverless in OS X or Windows but this wouldn't be making full use of the Medusa.
