So im going to be buying the new 2012 Imac when it comes out (whenever that is), but i was wondering, if i buy a 5.1 Headset such as a Siberia V2, or any gaming headset that supports 5.1, will i be able to use it with my imac, do the current imacs have a 5.1 sound card? or whatever it is? will i be able to get the full experience? thanks.

The optical/digital out in the iMac supports 5.1 surround. But for the Siberia V2 it won't matter - because it only accepts stereo input and provides virtual surround.

Using analog plug headphone connection, there is no 5.1 support. Using USB, you are dependent on the USB device maker's drivers - and few of them support 5.1. Optical audio out is the only guarantee of 5.1 out of the iMac (other than Mini DisplayPort to HDMI to a receiver.)
