A Toslink to mini-Toslink cable, like this: http://www.amazon.com/6ft-Toslink-Mini-Cable/dp/B000FMXKC8/ref=pd_bxgy_e_img_c

I actually have the Z-680s, the previous generation speakers to the ones you just bought, and my friend has your speakers. They sound fantastic, so it's a great purchase that you'll be very happy with. And, using my Black MacBook's output with that cable, I'm more than satisfied with the sound quality and everything.

The only downside of using digital is the MacBook Pro's keyboard volume controls will not work, but it's fine as the Z-680 and Z-5500 come with excellent control pods and I actually prefer the knob to the keyboard. I'm not sure if there's any way to get full 5.1 surround with these speakers without digital though, and there's no reason you'd want to, anyway.

hmmm I was planning on using the toslink to hook my 360 up to, I thought all I needed was a 3.5mm wire going into the back of the reciever and the other end into my laptop. How can I have both a 360 and my MBP hooked up via a toslink cable since theres only 1 input?
