Is there a way to have a Mac output to two 2.1 systems and have it treat the output like it is a 5.1 system?

5.1 with two 2.1 sets?

The .1 is the bass, so you have two basses and only four mid to high loudspeakers.
In order to get 5.1 out of you Mac you have to output digitally (optical) and then convert the signal to two 2.1 sets, which are analogue I presume.
I don't know of such device, but I assume if it exists it will be more expensive than a 5.1 loudspeaker set.
